Jump Rope Outside? Here’s How to Protect Your Body This Summer

We outside—but we smart about it.

Jumping rope in the sunshine hits different, but so does heat exhaustion. Whether you’re hitting the pavement for an outdoor jump session or vibing at one of our summer pop-ups, taking care of your body is non-negotiable. High temps + high energy = high risk if you’re not prepared. Here's how to stay safe, snatched, and glowing all summer long:

● Jump Early or Late:
The sun is not your opponent, but 12–3 p.m. might be. Stick to morning or early evening sessions to beat the peak heat.

● Wear Breathable Gear:
Moisture-wicking fabrics are your friend. Light, loose, and functional—without sacrificing cute. Your gear should work with your grind, not against it.

● SPF Is a Must:
Yes, Black people need sunscreen too. Go for SPF 30 or higher, and reapply if you’re sweating heavy. That melanin is magic—but not immune.

● Take Breaks:
Listen to your body. Pausing doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means you’re wise.

● Modify When Needed:
Don’t try to hit personal records in peak heat. Prioritize clean form, steady breath, and controlled movement. Save the beast mode for cooler days.

● Recover With Intention:
Stretch out, sip water or a smoothie, and get somewhere cool. Your recovery game is part of the transformation.

Take care of your body so your body can take care of you. Period.
Summer stamina is cute, but safety is even cuter.
